If I had to choose a word to describe my style lately, I’d choose boring. I’ve been rewearing the same four pieces, and I feel like my creativity is nonexistant. I don’t know what happened. The change in weather seemed like it brought with it fresh new ideas, but we’re just now in May, and I’m going through a rut. I think it’s a classic case of too much inspiration and a more than a little choice paralysis. So, like I always do when I’m feeling overwhelmed, I’m taking things back to the basics.

This is a palate cleanser outfit, meant to clear my head and simplify my routine. There’s nothing complicated about this look, it’s all neutrals and soft fabrics. This outfit is as much about neutrals as it is about comfort. Everything has to easily pair well together, and feel as close to sweatpants as possible. I’ve found that it’s from this place that I can focus on resetting and brainstorm new ideas. This and also staying off of social media.
It turns out that there is such as thing as too much inspiration. The choice paralysis from all of the trends has me frozen in place. Taking time off of the internet has helped me to regroup and remember what it is that I actually like.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good aspirational moment. But sometimes, a reality check is just what I need.
