Nothing says full summer like a dress painted in ice cream. And what better way to compliment a bold print than by pairing it with summer friendly accessories? Today’s outfit is a little out of the box, but it’s summer and there’s no better time to experiment.
I threw these things together and initially thought I’d flown too close to the sun. Nothing really matches, but I’m hoping that a sneaker/hat combo is neutral enough to balance out the ice cream print. Or maybe it does the opposite. I still can’t decide if I want to tone down the print or if I want to accentuate it in all its glory. Now that I look at it, I think that this combo somehow does both. If that makes any sense.
The sneakers and the hat are neutral enough to make the ice cream print the star of the show, while also bringing a bit of normalcy to an otherwise wild pattern. Magic.
In outfits past, I’ve made a point of trying to subdue the print by pairing it with basics like my trusty loafers. Today, I wanted to let it be, even if that made me a little nervous. Nothing about this outfit is minimalist, and it is decidedly outside of my comfort zone. However, it is summer, and if there is any time to answer the call of the wild print, it’s now.
Ps. After wearing this outfit all day, I can confirm that bold prints are fun. This dress just might make it into my regular rotation!
