Another outfit featuring jeans… in this heat? You may think I’m insane, it’s August and it is HOT. But in my defense, I’m going from air-conditioning to air-conditioning, with few minutes actually spent outside. Also, this outfit is primarily designed for going out to dinner when the sun goes down, taking the stifling temperatures with it. It’s my way of easing in to fall, or really, it’s my attempt to will cooler weather into existence.
This has been the summer of the tank top. I usually prefer some form of sleeves, but the extreme heat has made silky tanks my go-to. This one in particular is an oldie from Aritzia, and I love that it goes with everything. It also seems to elevate whatever I pair it with, be it denim cutoffs, a patterned midi skirt, or barrel jeans.
I chose this tank top not only because it’s hot out, but also because I’m trying desperately to remind myself that it is STILL summer. Everyday gets us closer and closer to my beloved fall! It wouldn’t be hard to skip over August and jump straight into pumpkin scented everything. The stores are already Halloween ready, and pumpkin spice has officially landed at Starbucks. And yet, this heat has no end in sight. Until the weather matches the cozy vision in my mind, I’ll be here, pairing some of my favorite fall pieces (hello jeans!) with summer necessities like tank tops and sandals.
