Happy Wednesday! I cannot believe that it’s already mid October. We have officially reached peak pumpkin, cozy, spooky season, and I’m thriving. The chilly mornings have brought back my leather jacket, so all is right again in the style world. While I can’t wait for even chillier weather, I have to admit that there is something special about wearing a jacket and shorts at the same time. It’s such a small window when this combo is possible, so I’ve been playing around with the contrast as much as I can.

Last year, I wrote about styling my beloved skort for chillier weather (find it here!), and it remains one of my favorite outfits to date. There’s just something so chic about a mini skirt and knee high boots. It’s also enormously practical in these transitional temperatures. For today’s outfit, I thought I’d use last year’s look as a jumping off point. I loved it so much, so why reinvent the wheel?
To keep things simple and a little similar, I swapped out the t-shirt for the same one in a different color. Then I switched the boots for loafers, added in a baseball cap, and there you have it! A different take on a favorite look.
I love, love, love when pulling an outfit together is this easy. Using my own closet as inspiration feels like the ultimate cheat code, and it reminds me of why I love chronicling my outfits in this way. Now I just hope that this style momentum carries me through the rest of the season!
