I can’t believe that we’re already at the end of April. April to me, is the last official month of spring before May sweeps in with summer air. I tried my best to be present and savor all the spring moments, but if I’m being completely honest, I’m giddy to see the month in the rearview. In the last few years, summer has quickly jumped the ranks to tie with fall as my favorite season, and I cannot wait for those long, lazy, summer days. But, I’m getting ahead of myself. Spring is technically still in full swing, and despite my eagerness for summer, there’s a lot of loveliness to be found in this season. Here are a few of my favorites from April.
Favorite Song- Choosing Texas by Ella Langley
Summer is coming, and with that seasonal shift comes the resurgence of my love for country music. I know I’m a little early, it is only spring after all, but this month was warm! There were several days that reached 80, and I was enjoying every minute with an iced coffee and a seat outside. Naturally, these unseasonably warm temperatures have inspired me to break out the country music. Ella Langley’s new album, Dandelion, just came out and Choosing Texas has been on repeat ever since.
Favorite Book- Waterfall by Lisa T. Bergren
I’ve been on the hunt for a new read, and have been coming up empty. I feel like I’m in a reading slump where I desperately want something new to read, but nothing sounds good. So, to pass the time and cleanse the palate, I’m rereading a beloved favorite. This series has it all, romance, action, time travel. I don’t know why I don’t do this more often. Waterfall is a beloved story for a reason!
Favorite Movie/Show- The Way Home
The Way Home is back for its final season on Hallmark. It’s the only show that has me hooked at the moment, and I’m finding the weeklong wait between episodes equally exciting and frustrating. Honestly, how did we live before streaming??
Favorite Snack- Fresh Strawberries
Strawberry season apparently came super early this year, because I’ve been seeing them everywhere. On sale! I’ve eaten more than my fair share of these berries this month, and it’s only increased my longing for summer.
Favorite Closet Item- Balloon Jeans
Once I snagged a pair of barrel jeans, I should’ve known that it would only be a matter of time before balloon jeans were next on my list. This pair is baggier than the barrel, and the slouchy silhouette gives off the perfect effortless vibe. I scored this pair on mega sale at Madewell, and I’m thinking that I’ll crop them for an ankle skimming fit.
Favorite Beauty Product- Dippity Do Curl Boosting Mousse
My hair is getting longer and I’m trying to let the curl to do its thing. This mousse from Dippity Do is light, smells fresh, and holds my curl pattern all day. As an added benefit, it doesn’t crunch (IYKYK). This is a product that I return to every time my hair gets long enough to curl.
