Winter is Back

March 13, 2026

Unfortunately, winter is back. At least that is what today feels like. After the early spring weather, this return of cold air feels especially painful. Even so, the more that I think about it, the more I realize that this cold snap isn’t all bad. It gives me a chance to wear my winter favorites, and to relish being cozy for (hopefully) the last time.

Transitional weather is simultaneously my favorite and least favorite time for outfit styling. I love when I can wear jeans and a t-shirt, but multiple seasons in one day make things a bit complicated. It’s cold in the morning, cold in the evening, but blazing hot in the afternoon. Roller coaster weather requires planning, and it takes me forever to figure out what to wear.

Because of this, I have to appreciate this cold snap. At least a tiny bit. I know exactly what to wear, how to layer, and my all my winter favorites are still within reach.

Favorites like my black turtleneck, Levi’s jeans, and burgundy boots are all back for a final hurrah.

I might still be desperate for spring, but finding joy in my winter favorites helps in the waiting.

Ps. Find similar looks here and here.
