Feeling Tired of Summer
Are you feeling tired of summer? Maybe it’s the oppressive heat, rewearing the same clothes, or the giddy anticipation for my favorite season (fall!), that have had me wishing away these summer days. The funny thing is, in the cold months, I know that I’ll be looking back on these sweltering days with wistful nostalgia. In an effort to be more present in the season, I’ve decided to come up with a few simple outfit formulas to help me on days when the motivation is running low. Today this looks like wearing all one color.

I’m no stranger to monochromatic dressing, so this is hardly revolutionary. And yet, I think I love this formula so much because it isn’t anything special. It makes getting dressed so easy, and at this point in the season, ease is essential!
Step one was picking the theme. In this case, it’s all black. Once that was established, it became significantly simpler to pull pieces from my closet. Suit shorts felt like a given (they are one of my favorite pieces this season), and espadrilles for a decidedly summer spin. The result is a combination of old things made new.
Looking at this, I can’t help but feel a little refreshed. I’m not sure that this has totally cured my brain block but for now, I’m counting it as a win. Summer, after all, is the perfect time to take things day by day.
