The Lazy Days of Summer

We’ve officially reached the lazy days of summer. Whenever we reach this point in the season (featuring several, consecutive, sweltering days), I like to give myself a style pass if you will. One day (sometimes more) where I wear an outfit purely based on feel, without any consideration for what ‘looks good.’

Today, this looked like a beloved popover shirt, some poplin shorts, and my favorite penny loafers.

To me, this outfit feels peak summer. There’s very little effort put in here, it’s full of comfort wear, and it fully encompasses how I’m feeling in this heat. Just trying to get through it.

When the weather is especially stifling, I love giving myself a little style reprieve. It’s a chance to take a step back, give myself some grace, and focus and what feels right. That way, I can focus all of my energy on staying cool and enjoying the rest of the season!
