Breaking Out the Sun Hat
It’s that time of year! Outside everything is on my agenda, which means sun protection is a non-negotiable. It’s no secret that I’m passionate about sun protection. I have an extensive collection of hats, sunglasses, and different types of sunscreen for any and all occasions. It’s been sunny enough lately that it’s time for one of my favorite seasonal pieces. The weather is warm and I’m breaking out the sun hat!

My primary inspiration for this outfit was woman tending a garden in a Nancy Meyers movie. I wanted to look casual, but polished in that effortless Nancy Meyers way.
Naturally, any Nancy Meyers look requires a plethora of neutrals. Think lots of bright whites, tans, and beige. With the exception of the denim, of course. But denim is a classic neutral in itself, and it brings a welcome contrast to the rest of the outfit.
I wanted this look to make my plans seem somewhat obscure. Am I headed to the beach? Maybe the coffee shop? Or maybe I’m actually headed out to do some gardening. Who knows?
This is the kind of open ended outfit that brings a little life into this Wednesday.
Now that I look at this, I realize that you can easily swap out the shoe to make things a little more interesting. And if you’re looking to be especially on trend, there’s no time like the present to try out a jelly shoe. I never thought I’d say this, but I’ve been eyeing a few pairs that just might make it to my closet!
Ps. See more of this hat, here.
