Personality Over Practicality

I love a functional outfit. There’s nothing like feeling fully capable of taking on all that the day has in store. High temperatures? A lot of walking? No problem. I’ve got an outfit for that. I’ve learned over the years how to combine my love for function with my love for fashion to create outfits that fit both categories. However, there comes a time when personality wins over practicality.

Sometimes I put on an outfit and I immediately feel like, “this is me, this is who I’ve always been!” That wonderful feeling of steadfast self-assurance happened to me this morning. There’s just something about pairing a bunch of favorite pieces together to create something new and inspiring. Are riding boots functional in this summer heat? Not necessarily. But today, we’re overlooking function for the sake of fun.

It’s been a while since I’ve truly felt giddy in an outfit, and this look is giving me butterflies!
