Statement Skirt

There are many things in my closet that I instantly gravitate towards because they’re comfortable, they go with everything, and they’re easy to style. This skirt is not one of those pieces. I don’t know what it is about this particular statement skirt, but sometimes it feels like the pattern, the color, and the beading make too much of a statement.

It’s hard to believe that I’ve had this skirt for over ten years. I don’t wear it too often, but I just can’t give it up. The florals, mismatched colors, and the beading have me in a chokehold. It’s quite simply the loveliest skirt I own, if also the most difficult to style.

However, in situations like these, I’ve found it’s best to pare everything else back.

A basic white t-shirt, my favorite pair of mules and a tote bag are the perfect accent pieces. Nothing over the top, but just enough to let this skirt make the statement that it deserves.
