Track Shorts

If there is any style trend that I love above all others, it’s pairing unexpected items together. Black accessories with an all white outfit, chunky sneakers with a dainty dress, tall boots with short hemlines. I love it all. This summer, a new delightfully unexpected trend has come to my attention. Track shorts paired with dressier pieces. This trend is right up my alley, with my favorite Costco track shorts up for the challenge.

Trends are so funny. They’re either wildly outside of my style zone, or they’re crafted seemingly just for me. This trend clearly falls into the latter category. Track shorts are already a central part of my athletic wear rotation, and if I could, I’d live in them forever. Considering my love of contrast, I can’t believe that I haven’t thought of pairing track shorts with non-athletic items before. This combo oozes the perfect amount of unexpectedness, and just plain fun!

This is what makes fashion so exciting. Continual discovery, evolution, and experimentation. Things don’t always have to be so straight forward. Sometimes the perfect pairing with a track short is not a sneaker but a penny loafer. Go figure!
