Hello 2025! There’s something about starting a new year that leaves me feeling equally excited and nervous for the months to come. This new year brings so much possibility, but also so much uncertainty that I find myself oscillating between emotions throughout the month of January. When I’m feeling a little out of sorts emotionally, I like to reach for comfort and familiarity wherever I can. Today, this looks like starting off the year in my favorite pair of jeans. Nothing says comfort like a beloved pair of denim.
For this outfit, comfort is the theme. I want today’s look to feel like a warm hug. Something soothing and toasty on this cold January day.
This is why a favorite pair of denim is key. They’re usually worn in, washed over and over into the perfect softness, and feel like butter on the skin. This pair is all of those things! I’ve written extensively about these jeans, and they just get better with age.
A soft and cozy sweater is the perfect topper to go over the top of these pants. The goal is comfort from every angle, and this sweater has a soft knit that feels like a sweatshirt.
To finish off the outfit, I threw on my favorite pair of penny loafers. This pair is so worn in, they honestly feel as comfortable as a pair of sneakers.
On this dreary January day, this cozy outfit is making the year ahead feel not so daunting after all!
