It’s no secret that when I find something that I like, I’ll wear it endlessly on repeat. I’m a shameless outfit repeater, and have no qualms about wearing the same piece every day in a given week. Is this a little obsessive? Maybe, but I like what I like! Lately, the piece du jour has been a black tennis skirt from Aerie. I just recently starting wearing this over tights, and it has quickly become my new favorite skirt.
One of my favorite combinations this season has been the mini skirt with knee high boots. Throw in a chunky sweater, and this outfit has the perfect amount of 90s flair.
The best thing about this particular piece is that it’s a fitness skirt. This means that the fabric is stretchy, it doesn’t wrinkle easily, and it has shorts underneath. Can you think of a more perfect skirt? At first, I was worried that it would be obvious that it was athletic wear, but when paired with the right things, it’s hardly noticeable.
Whenever I wear a shorter hemline, I like to create a little contrast by wearing something bulky on top. Today that looks like an old cable knit sweater in the perfect shade of camel. This color is a bright spot amongst the black, and I love how cozy it feels.
I love bringing life to an unexpected item, and this skirt is an example of how fun shopping your own closet can be!
