Do you ever see something trendy and think, “absolutely not?” Only to fast forward a few months to find yourself wearing the trend that you originally claimed to hate? Maybe that’s never happened to you, or maybe you’re like me, and you’ve found yourself eating your words. I’ve reconsidered trends a few times over the years, most recently with the reemergence of capris. I say reemergence and not resurgence because, although they’re back on the market, I’m not sure they have totally taken off. Regardless, I’ve chosen to embrace this polarizing fashion trend with open arms. I’ve played around with a few different items in my closet, and I think I’ve created a case for capris.
I think the key to making a case for capris is leaning into a neutral color palate. We’re already working with a funky hemline, and I want to balance it out with simple and understated items. Here I’ve paired the pants with a linen blend top and my trusty Vince mules. I’ve also added some simple gold jewelry for a little sparkle, and a red lip for a pop of color. The result is a classic look with a little 2024 flair.

- Gingham and Puffed Sleeves– I love the picnic vibe a gingham or puffed sleeve top brings to a pair of capris
Only time will tell if I’ll look back on this trend with regret. Until then, I’m thoroughly enjoying capris!
