Welcome November with Denim on Denim
Hey there November! The start of a new month has me feeling all the feels. There are thirty new days of possibility ahead of us, and the holidays are that much closer! Eeep! I thought I’d create an outfit that feels a little out of the box to piggy back off of these fresh start feelings. What could be more experimental than a cropped vest and an all jean look? I’m saying welcome to November with denim on denim!
This denim vest from Madewell has had me vexed since the day I bought it. It’s a little more cropped than I normally like, so it’s been hanging out in my closet ever since.
So, what do you do with things that feel a smidge too cropped? Layer! It’s such an easy solution that has opened my eyes to all the style possibilities this vest holds. For now, I’m sticking to the basics with a play on the Canadian tuxedo. It’s simple in that it’s mainly one fabric, and the layering gives off a vintage vibe.
The wide leg denim provides contrast to the cropped vest, and the boots bring in a little western inspired flair. Overall, the look is a little vintage, a little western, and the perfect amount of interesting on this grey November day.
It’s such an exhilarating feeling when you crack a particularly difficult closet item. This look has reminded me of why I bought this vest in the first place. I already know that I’ll be repeating this outfit all season long.
Here are a couple of my earlier attempts at styling this vest in case you’re curious! Denim I’m Wearing this Spring, Western Inspired
