Dragging Hemlines

I’ve worn several questionable fashion trends over the years and somehow, the one that has given me the most pause is dragging hemlines.

People are wearing too long pants with too flat shoes. Without a care in the world! In fact, it’s that very lack of care that makes the look so appealing. Maybe today’s cool girl is woefully unaffected by such trivial things as a dusty hemline. Or maybe, she’s like me and immediately puts them in the wash upon returning home. Who knows? What I do know is this: letting my pants drag about did leave me feeling effortlessly cool. I don’t know how long I’ll be able to ignore my germaphobic tendencies, but for now, I’m embracing a dragging hemline.

When it came to choosing a pair of pants for this particular look, I knew that my wide leg Levi’s would be perfect for the job. I almost exclusively wear these with some form of heeled shoe. Wearing them with a flat sandal feels like a giant leap out of my comfort zone.

But, I have to admit…I don’t hate it. And for now, that feels like a win.
