June Favorites

So far, this summer has been HOT. I’m doing everything in my power to not melt away in the humidity. Even so, I can’t help but indulge in all things S U M M E R ! ! My June favorites are all reflective of the season, and I’m leaning into everything festive. Ice cream? Sun Hat? Olympics? Check, Check, Check! Here is everything I’ve been loving this June.

favorite song– wild by carter faith

Country music has always been the soundtrack of the summer for me. It takes me back to Fourth of July barbecues, time spent at the pool, and chasing fireflies in that crisp mountain air. I have to admit, I’m what you’d consider to be a casual country fan. Meaning, I mainly listen to country in the summer or during moments when I need a little summer nostalgia. The rest of the year? Not so much.

Nevertheless, seeing as we’re in the middle of summer (!!), I’ve been listening to Spotify’s Coastal Cowgirl playlist on repeat. This song by Carter Faith popped up on the playlist and I can’t get it out of my head. It feels like a driving with the windows down, peak summer, kind of song.

favorite book– that summer by sarah dessen

I loved reading Sarah Dessen when I was in high school. Her books are always full of sweet friendships, first love, and self discovery. They also often take place at the beach and give off stellar summer vibes. This year, I’ve been aiming to read all of her novels that I’ve not yet read. It’s been such a fun nostalgia trip so far, and I feel like I’m a teenager again. This month I started with her debut novel, That Summer. It was a fun and quick read, full of all of the Dessen trademarks that I’ve grown to love.

favorite show/movie– olympic trials

This summer has been packed with my favorite sports. NHL playoffs, tennis majors, and now olympics? The perfect summer! I’m a huge olympics fan and I cannot wait for the summer games to start! In the meantime, I’ve been watching the Olympic Trials to get my fix before the games start next month.

favorite snack– superhero ice cream

This month my favorite snack has been, the ever summery, superhero ice cream. I recently found this at the store and have never been transported back to my childhood so quickly. Yes it has an obnoxious color, but that’s part of the charm! I’m also a kid at heart that consistently gravitates towards dyed food. I can’t help it.

favorite closet item– sun hat

It wouldn’t be a June Favorites list without some form of sun protection! This sun hat is a favorite all season long. It’s one of those summer essentials that I carry with me into every year, and I’ve been wearing it this month on repeat.

favorite beauty product– gucci flora jasmine perfume

This is one of those beauty products that I’ve had in my bathroom forever, but haven’t truly discovered until now. After using this a couple of times, I think I can say that this is the summer of the Gucci Jasmine perfume. I love anything jasmine, and this is such a faithful reproduction of that fresh, heady, floral scent. I’ve been wearing this on repeat for dinners out and anytime I want to add a little extra flair to my daily look.
