Another Dress Another Sneaker

Last Wednesday’s outfit inspired me so much that I thought I’d have today’s look feature another dress and another sneaker. I don’t want my style to necessarily become redundant, but with a formula this simple, it’s hard not to rewear different iterations of the same thing. I’ve always thought that I don’t have a particular aesthetic, that my style bounces across genres, but maybe this is it. Maybe I’m a dress and sneaker kind of girl.

I wanted to keep a similar vibe to last week’s look, but with a slightly different take. Today this looked like wearing the opposite of last week’s outfit. A short dress in a dark color, paired with a neutral shoe is the perfect anthesis to Wednesday’s bright white.

The challenge with this outfit was transforming this dress from a party dress into something that can be casually worn everyday. This is where the sneaker/dress combo comes in so handy. The sneakers naturally bring down the dress a couple notches, in a way that feels effortlessly cool. Throw in casual accessories like the tote bag, and I look like I’m headed for the coffee shop rather than a dinner party.

This outfit reminds me of how easy it is to bring new life to beloved pieces. This party dress has been given new purpose. Simply by pairing it with sneakers!
