Again with the Summer Denim?

Again with the summer denim? In these temperatures? Ok, so this outfit feels distinctly fall inspired. However, seeing as the majority of my day will be spent indoors with AC, I’m going to roll with it.

I’m trying not to give up on my goal of wearing more color. However, the likelihood of a colorful summer isn’t looking as strong as I’d anticipated. I like what I like, and sometimes that looks like a predominately neutral outfit. Even in the middle of summer.

Instead of trying to fight it, I’ve come to a stage of acceptance. Neutrals are my favorite colors to wear. If a little color gets mixed in along the way, fabulous! If not, it’s not the end of the world.

I think the theme of my summer wardrobe is going to be, go with what feels most natural. I’ve always tried to shoehorn my style into a particular aesthetic. Whether it be for continuity’s sake, or in effort to give myself a particular vibe. Regardless of the intention, trying to subscribe to a singular style has usually left me feeling overly stressed over daily outfits.

Stressed is the opposite of how I want this summer to feel. So, I’m letting go of my style structures and rules, and I’m embracing whatever feels right. Today, that looks like jeans in June.
