Suit Shorts Take Two

Suit shorts take two! These shorts have become the unexpected style hero of the summer. I never thought I’d wear a pair of shorts made out of suiting fabric. I also never thought I’d ever touch capris, and we know how that turned out. So, in the spirit of ignoring sweeping absolutes, I’m once again embracing something new and different.

I got this shirt from Marshall’s a while ago, and I can’t help but feel like it was meant for these shorts. While my first foray into suit shorts featured an all black look, this top brightens things up considerably for a different take. Albeit still neutral, but whatever.

As I’m sitting here writing this, I realize that there’s not much to say about this look. It’s a simple outfit, in a neutral color palette, without much flash or fanfare. In the past, I’m not sure an outfit like this would make the blog. It just feels a little… plain. Where’s the texture? Where’s the ingenuity? Blah blah blah.

The fact is, not every outfit is extraordinary, and that’s ok!! I keep reminding myself that I don’t have to always do the most. Perfection is overrated anyway.
