Beach Town Vibes

I’ve only been to the beach once so far this summer. And yet, that hasn’t stopped me from dressing like I live there. There’s something about that casual, beach town vibe that has me mentally dreaming of a coastal move. A variety of factors may be preventing me from actually living at the beach (a fear of hurricanes being one of them), but nothing is stopping me from wearing beach inspired attire at home.

Whenever I go on vacation, I always find myself wanting to redo my entire wardrobe to match whatever city I’m visiting. There’s so much inspiration to be found when people watching in a new place, and I love blending in like a true local. While I typically refrain from redoing my entire wardrobe, any local looks that I can recreate from items already in my closet are fair game.

This outfit is one such look. Inspired by a recent beach trip, this outfit oozes the casual functionality that I’ve come to associate with coastal towns. There are layering pieces to protect from the sun (and the AC), bright summer colors, and a carry-all bag for a day spent away from home.

If I had to give this look a theme, it would be coffee shop/bookstore run. You know those lazy weekends, when you have nothing to do and nowhere to be. You can explore the city and discover new haunts. If I were in a seaside town, looking for the best iced latte, this is what I’d wear. It’s comfortable enough for a full day of walking, and the tote bag has plenty of room for new acquisitions.

Now, I’m off to listen to ocean sounds and daydream about a day by the water!
