Every summer, I try and spend the most time outside as possible. I love to read outside, eat outside, take a walk outside, I’m taking any excuse to be outdoors. The extra time spent in the sun means I’m serious about my sun protection. I bought this hat a few years ago, back when I had a buzz cut and needed all of the sun protection I could get. Although my hair is much longer now, the wide brim of this hat still shades my face and the back of my neck like a dream.
I have a lot of criteria for the perfect summer hat. It must be thick enough to protect against the sun’s rays, sturdy enough that it doesn’t lose its shape, and cute enough that I’ll enjoy wearing it with any outfit. Thankfully, this hat checks all of the boxes. Perfect for the beach, walking downtown, or spending time in the park.
Over the years, I’ve put this hat through all of the tests and it has passed with flying colors. It truly is the perfect summer hat. I’ve also found that packing this hat is a breeze. It doesn’t wrinkle easily, it holds its shape, and it spot-cleans well. After three years of consistent summer wear, this hat still looks as bright and structured as the day I bought it.
This summer has been an exceptionally hot one, and the sunscreen and sunhat combination is the theme of the season. It’s a good thing that this hat can be dressed up or kept casual, because it’ll be glued to my head until September!
