Stripes and Sneakers
This rainy Monday calls for stripes and sneakers. Something bold and bright to liven up this grey day, and something practical that I don’t mind getting a little wet.

There’s something to be said about going against the grain. Ok so maybe this isn’t the most revolutionary look. However, it does go against a few of my rainy weather rules. For one, it’s featuring a full length jean. I usually like to keep things on the cropped side for the sake of avoiding soggy hemlines. But today, this outfit begged for a wide leg.
A second change I’ve made is more of a habit rather than a rule. But still, I rarely wear something boxy on top and on bottom. I love contrasting shapes. However, I realized that I was holding a little too tightly to this idea of contrast. It became less of a preference and more of a mandate. But this Monday calls for something softer and kinder than my rigid style rules would allow. So what do you do when your outfit no longer falls in line with your ‘aesthetic?’ You pivot.
These days I’m learning to be more flexible with my style. I don’t have to strictly subscribe to a particular aesthetic or signature look. Instead, I want my style to ebb and flow with how I’m feeling on a given day. Today, this looks like wearing something a little looser, and a little different. Casual comfort for this rainy Monday.
