Spring Break Reading List
Something that I miss from childhood is the frequency of scheduled breaks. Fall break, winter break, spring break! This was always peak reading time for me, and I’d happily tear through the stack of “fun” reads that I’d compiled throughout the semester. Although I no longer have the luxury of school sanctioned time off, this time of year brings about a certain level of spring break nostalgia that has me thinking about what I’d read if I were headed on a trip. Maybe you’ve got a vacation or staycation on the calendar. Or, maybe it’s just a regular ol’Friday. Either way, this spring break reading list is sure to please!

The Husbands by Holly Gramazio
If you’re in the mood for a little magical realism, The Husbands by Holly Gramazio provides just the right about of whimsy.

Just as she’s starting to come to grips with having a husband she’s never met, he goes upstairs to change a lightbulb. When a new man returns in his place, he brings with him a slightly altered life. Lauren quickly realizes that the attic is magic, with the ability to change her husband, and her life, on a whim. Under the Surface by Diana Urban
It’s no secret that I love themes. What could be a better theme for vacation reading than a book that features a vacation? This YA novel follows Ruby and Sean, two high school students thrilled to be in Paris for their senior trip. The city of light is full of possibility, and they’re hoping this is the place to move their relationship to the next level. But the trip quickly takes a turn from dream to nightmare when ruby and her friends get lost in the catacombs. What started as the trip of a lifetime quickly turns into a fight for survival.
I devoured this thriller and wrote a full length review that you can read here.

The Flat Share by Beth O’Leary

Deep End by Ali Hazelwood
Would it be a vacation reading list without a cheesy, guilty pleasure read? I think not! Whenever I’m looking for something fun and binge worthy, I love to reach for an Ali Hazelwood novel. Deep End just came out last month, and it checks all the boxes of a classic Hazelwood read.
This novel follows Scarlett Vandermeer, a D1 diver on the Stanford swim team. When her friend drunkenly sets her up with swimming legend Lukas Blomqvist, what starts as a casual fling quickly turns into more.
Readers should note, this one is Rated R.
The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
I’m of the belief that every vacation needs a solid thriller. If you also like a little thrill in your spring reads, this novel by the author of the popular A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series will keep you on the edge of your seat!
This book follows Bel Price as her family films a documentary about her mother’s mysterious disappearance. However, when Rachel miraculously reappears after 16 years, life as Bel knew it is flipped upside down.
