Shorts and Sweaters

Shorts and sweaters seem like an impractical outfit combination. But when is a more practical time to wear this duo than spring? It’s no secret that I love the burgeoning warm weather, but lately it’s been the kind of warm that is only felt directly in the sun. In the shade? Not so much. So, today I’m dressing for both climates by pairing one of my favorite sweaters with a classic pair of cut-offs.

I think what I love most about this outfit is how grab-and-go it feels. A wrinkly pullover sweater, denim cut-offs, and slip on shoes. Could it get any easier?

For this look I’m leaning into the cozy imperfection of this transitional season. The temperature changes drastically by the hour, so my style strategy is both/and instead of either/or. Hence the shorts… but also the sweater.

I’m thoroughly enjoying this oxymoron outfit. There’s such a specific window in time when I can wear something like this, so I’m savoring every second!

*Full disclosure, I did get a little too warm in the afternoon and ended up slightly regretting the sweater. Definitely layering a t-shirt underneath for next time!
