Penny Loafers All the Time
If I had to wear only one pair of shoes for the rest of my life, I’d choose penny loafers. Easily. I wear penny loafers all the time as it is, so it wouldn’t be much of an adjustment anyway. This is such a versatile, comfortable shoe that I find myself reaching for on repeat. The question isn’t so much “what do you wear with penny loafers?” as “what can’t you wear with penny loafers?”
Truthfully, there’s nothing you can’t wear with this shoe. There’s something to be said about a shoe with versatility!
One of my favorite ways to wear this pair is with beat up denim cutoffs and a classic poplin shirt. It feels very workwear-turned-casual, and I love the contrast. The light wash denim with the crisp black loafer is such a fun combination that I keep wearing over and over. I love how the black leather and the light denim play off of each other. The contrast is chef’s kiss.
Other ways I love wearing penny loafers:
- Mini Dresses- I’m obsessed with the look of a polished penny loafer with the short hem of a mini dress. I’ve been wearing this combination all summer!
- Monochromatic Looks- Penny loafers make an all white or all black outfit that much more interesting. I love the sleek look of an all black outfit with these shoes, or the sharp contrast of the black leather with an all white look.
- Cropped Pants- Cropped pants are the perfect pant to pair with a penny loafer. The shortened hem is a flattering way to show off the shoe. Even better if there’s a wide leg!
