Memorial Day Inspired

Memorial Day weekend is the official kick off of summer, and I’m beyond thrilled that we’re finally, *officially,* entering this beloved season. I’ve been prematurely ready for all things warm weather, and now that Memorial Day is finally here, it’s socially acceptable to be all in on summer. This weekend, and the rest of the season, is sure to be filled with all kinds of outdoor activities. So, in celebration, I’ve drafted up an outfit that is Memorial Day inspired.

This weekend, we’re having a bit of a cold front where I live. I was initially bummed to see the low 70s on the forecast, but then I remembered that it invites the possibility for layers! Or at least for sleeves, and in this case, linen sleeves!

I bought this shirt at Target a couple of months ago, purely out of love for the stripes. In my head, this was the perfect summer holiday shirt. Of course I forgot how hot the summers are, and how impractical a long sleeve shirt is for any type of summer celebration.

But in a twist of fate, cooler weather is on schedule all weekend. So, what started out as an impractical summer shirt, has quickly transformed into the perfect piece for this Memorial Day!
