May Favorites 2025

May seemed to fly by at a faster rate than I expected. Maybe it was the sudden appearance of hot weather that made summer feel like it was finally in reach. Or maybe it was simply because I was enjoying every part of this final spring month. Either way, there was a lot to love about May! Here are my May favorites for 2025.

Favorite Song- Up to Me by LANY

Do you ever rediscover songs? This song used to be an old favorite and somehow got completely forgotten about. I love when this happens because when I do rediscover it, it’s like hearing it for the first time all over again. This song has all of the upbeat, cheery vibes that I love this time of year. It makes me want to go for a drive with the windows down, maybe with an iced coffee!

Favorite Book- Big Dumb Eyes by Nate Bargatze

There is no other comedian that makes me laugh as hard as Nate Bargatze. There’s something about his unique delivery that gets me every time. I listened to his book on audio, and hearing the stories from his life told with his signature self-deprecating humor felt just like watching one of his specials. Albeit with a little more back story.

Favorite Show/Movie- Along for the Ride

This officially qualifies as one of my summer comfort films. I loved Sarah Dessen’s books when I was younger, and this movie is a fun adaptation of one of my favorites. The beach setting and the soundtrack always put me in the best mood. It’s as if summer itself were made into film. I rewatched it a couple of nights ago, and it has me dreaming of a weekend at the beach!

Favorite Snack- Iced tea with Mint

The warm weather is here, and that means that copious amounts of iced tea and iced coffee are on the menu. I’ve been making pitchers of iced black tea with fresh mint lately, and it has been the refreshing beverage needed on these humid days.

Favorite Closet Item- Doc Marten’s Blaire Sandals

I promised myself I’d be wearing more of these shoes, and so far, I’ve been keeping that promise. My love for these platform Docs has officially been reignited and I can’t wait to keep wearing them all summer.

Favorite Beauty Product- elf Cosmetics Putty Color-Correcting Eye Brightener

This product is magic. I’m usually impressed by elf’s products (their halo glow is my favorite makeup item!), and this product did not disappoint. I’ve been looking for an under eye brightener for a long time, and this one is so effective, I look well rested even on a few hours of sleep.
