Make it Bright

I’ve been trying lately to figure out little ways to jazz up my regular outfits. I’ve long made it a goal to wear more color in my everyday, but it’s taken me until now to realize that this sweeping goal may be a tad unrealistic. It’s hard to force something that doesn’t always come naturally. And as it turns out, wearing consistent color is not as easy as I thought. Thankfully, instead of going all or nothing, I can at least try to add a little something. Hence this extremely vibrant pink purse. I figured if I’m going to aim to add color, I might as well make it bright.

What I love about this outfit is that it feels very “same but different.” Same in the sense that it’s a predominately neutral look. It’s also featuring well worn favorites like a wide leg and penny loafers. The difference comes in the form of a bag in the brightest possible shade. Neon feels very go big or go home, but with this outfit, it just seems to work.

It’s funny how something can feel old or dated, until you see it in a new light. I loved this purse in high school, and in the years since, it has felt so high school. Until now.

I think a key part of this renaissance was shortening the strap. This purse has a rounded shape similar to the crescent bags I’ve seen everywhere. With the shorter strap, it surprisingly looks just as cool and effortless. It’s such an easy fix that has brought this bag new life. I feel kind of foolish that it’s taken me so long to realize this, but better late than never!

Now I have a feeling that it won’t be so difficult to add color to my outfits.

Xx, M
