Leather Jackets and Skinny Scarves
I can’t believe that we’re approaching the end of October. Where has 2024 gone? At least the end of this month means that Halloween is just around the corner, the weather is colder, and fall style is in full swing. If the time must fly, at least it brings with it some of my favorite things. It’s starting to feel like the most wonderful time of year, and I’m celebrating by pulling out my favorite layers. I’ve started off this season with my new favorite combination: leather jackets and skinny scarves.
I made this scarf when I was first learning how to knit, and I didn’t love it at first. All I could see were the imperfect stitches, and uneven width. However, the more time has gone by, the more I’ve come to cherish it in all its imperfection. It adds a certain quirkiness to my outfit that only hand knits can bring. It’s the little details that make an outfit feel special, and this scarf is doing just that.
When it comes to aesthetics, I love the vintage feel of this skinny scarf. To play around with that vibe, I’ve paired it with vintage inspired pieces like my leather jacket and some cropped boot cut jeans.
The overall effect feels very 1970s New York. Or maybe a little Lorelai Gilmore. Either way, it shows that leather jackets and skinny scarves are a match made in heaven.
