In a Sea of Neutrals, Choose Bold

It seems that adding color to my wardrobe will be a forever goal. Normally I’d like to think that I’m a pretty colorful person, but my wardrobe begs to differ. Even so, as much as I naturally gravitate towards a neutral palette, there is just something about a little pop of color. Especially during these grey fall days. Call it turning over a new leaf, or simply inspiration from Monday’s post. Either way, I’ve been loving experimenting with color. And if I’m going to pick a vibrant accent piece, I might as well also choose one featuring a funky print.

I know that November is still technically fall, but this month has always felt like the beginning of winter. The temperature usually requires a coat, and daylight savings makes everything feel a little gloomy. This year, I’ve made it a goal to get ahead of the winter blahs. You know those days, when the weather is frigid and the trees are bare. When I feel myself giving in to the gray of the day, a little color in my wardrobe feels like a perfectly easy pick-me-up.

Even better if that pick-me-up comes in cat print!! When I first laid eyes on this fabric, it was love at first sight. I mean the cats alone… Also, how fun is the pink and orange color scheme? It’s an unusual fabric that I turned into the sweetest tie-back top. While I’d normally file this top under summer attire, I’m thrilled to bring it into a new season.

I wanted to be sure that this top got the full star treatment, so I layered it on top of an all black base. The result is a look that makes me feel giddy. There’s something to be said about choosing something bold and out of the box!

Two colorful outfits in one week. Who even am I?
