From the Closet Archives Pt. 3
Every once and a while I love to do a little shop around my own closet. I dig through the back corners and bottom stacks to find the pieces that have gathered more than a little dust. There’s something so refreshing and satisfying about breathing new life into an old favorite. It’s been a minute since I’ve written a From the Closet Archives post, and when I went looking through my closet, I was inspired to revive this slip skirt. And so, From the Closet Archives Pt. 3 was born.
I got this skirt for $8 at a Nordstrom Rack a few years ago, and have somehow only worn it with t-shirts and sneakers. This time around, I wanted to try a different spin on the slip skirt. I added a knit vest from Madewell and my trusty pair of Birkenstocks for an updated take on this skirt. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the workwear trend, and this little knit vest adds such a fun contrast to the floral patterned skirt.
I’ve been on a mission lately to add a little more creativity to my everyday style. At this point in the summer, I’ve been dealing with the heat by wearing t-shirts and bike shorts on repeat. Although the shorts and t-shirt formula is essential for some days, I wanted to bring back some variety to my everyday wear. This outfit features a black tank to hide sweat stains, and a breathable skirt to keep me feeling cool. This look has the same effect as a t-shirt and bike shorts outfit, but a little more polished.
