Denim I’m Wearing This Spring

Jeans are by far my favorite clothing item to buy. I don’t know what it is about a solid pair of denim, but I’ll take them over a new pair of shoes any day. Naturally, this has lead to a closet pile up over the years, and every season I’m determined to figure out how to make what I already have work with the new season’s trends. This season, I’ve curated a small list of denim favorites from my closet with enough range to carry me through the up and down temperatures of early spring. The key here is keeping things light, airy, and easy. Here are three simple looks to get the spring outfit inspiration going.

Shorts

It wouldn’t be warm weather without a solid pair of denim shorts. Lately, I’ve been loving the dad short aesthetic. These shorts are loose in the leg, long in the hem, and are such a comfortable and versatile choice as we head into summer. I love wearing these in early spring paired with long sleeves or a fun jacket. It’s the perfect solution to those days that start out chilly but end warm. This pair is a carry over from last summer, where I cropped an old pair of H&M jeans to make the perfect denim short.

Wide Leg

I have been loving the wide leg denim trend! The silhouette, when paired with a cropped or fitted top, is exquisite. I’ve been wearing this Levi’s pair all winter long, and I’ll be seeing them through spring with tank tops, vintage tees, and mules. Not only are these jeans so cute, but my legs are also loving the freedom that comes with a wide leg. Seriously, that skinny jean era was rough.

Vest

I’m thrilled to see that the workwear trend is alive and well in this new year. Blazers! Trousers! Loafers! All of it is so much fun to style for everyday wear. This spring, I’m playing around with the contrast between the casualness of the denim and the more formal trouser pant. It’s such a fun juxtaposition that gives an outfit a little extra dimension.
