Sometimes You Need a Cat Print Shirt

Somedays I wake up wanting to redo my entire wardrobe to fit a neutral, classic aesthetic. And on other days, I wake up wanting to wear a cat print shirt. I’ve long come to the conclusion that I don’t have one signature, cohesive look. While that used to bother me, I’m learning to embrace all of the different parts of my closet, and the different sides of myself.

After yesterday’s simplicity, I woke up craving something a little more vibrant. Of all of the colorful items in my closet, this top feels like the most fun. I love the retro and funky vibe of this print. It brings life to any outfit, and in this case, it adds just the right amount of summer brightness to an otherwise neutral look.

It always feels like a special occasion when I wear this top. Especially considering the fact that I made it myself! It’s a little more cropped than I’m usually comfortable with, but I’m learning to love it with the help of my high waisted jeans.

This outfit feels simultaneously out of my comfort zone, and right up my alley. The perfect balance on this summer Tuesday!
