Capris Strike Again
Capris strike again! I had a feeling that these pants would cement themselves as a closet staple. So far, that rings true. It’s funny how much I moaned and groaned about the return of capris. Only to later find myself excitedly putting together outfits like there’s no tomorrow. Time has passed, I’ve changed my mind, and capris are a beloved feature of my warm weather wardrobe. Another argument for banning sweeping absolutes from my closet!

I’ve gone a few different directions when styling these pants. This has looked like taking inspiration from vintage silhouettes and classic lines. While that has been fun and enormously helpful, today I wanted to makes things feel a little more like me.
What would happen if I took inspiration from my own closet? What if I stopped thinking so much about what would look good, and instead focused on what felt natural?
Well, this is the product of that frame of thought. It’s casual, comfortable, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Exactly my kind of outfit. I’ve folded the capris into my style in a way that feels new but still organic.
I’ve gotten so used to taking inspiration from outside sources that drafting this myself has me feeling almost shy. Especially considering the shoe choice. I originally had a simple mule paired with this, but it just felt overly predictable. So, in what might be an overcorrection, I went with a cropped cowboy boot instead.
The result feels out of my comfort zone in the best way!
