A Rainy April Monday
Hello April showers! Every year I hope that the April moniker will be more fiction than fact. Alas, the forecast calls for a lot of rain. I’m trying a new tactic this season. Facing the rain with grace, instead of moping about like I usually do in gloomy weather. On this rainy April Monday, this looks like brightening up a few weatherproof favorites.

Do you really need anything but a trench coat and a pair of boots on a rainy day? Ok, maybe also an umbrella, or a hat. But I digress.
This trench coat continues to be a seasonal favorite. It adds just the right amount of refinement to an outfit, which is especially useful when I’m reaching for whatever’s easiest. The soft beige brightens things up on this gloomy day, and I love the contrast with the dark sweater and boots.
Speaking of boots… move over sneakers, I’ve found a new favorite rainy day shoe. I honestly don’t know how it’s taken me so long to jump on the Blundstone bandwagon. All that matters is that I’m here now, and I’m an enthusiastic supporter of the cause! It didn’t take long for me to see how this weatherproof shoe earned its popularity. I recently took them on a trip to Lake Tahoe, and they held up beautifully in the slushy, rocky terrain. After everything I put them through, they still look good as new. Magic! There’s nothing like wearing a shoe that can go anywhere and do anything. I mean, the confidence that comes with being able to stomp through any puddle is unmatched.
This may be a wet weather outfit, but it somehow seems to bring about the perfect amount of spring freshness. And on this rainy April Monday, anything bright and fresh is most welcome!
