The Best Sunscreens for Everyday
Sunscreen! The most important beauty essential, especially when it comes to summer beauty! I’m a firm believer in daily SPF year round. However, with warmer weather comes a little extra time outside, so I thought I’d round up all of my favorite sunscreens for this and every season. When it comes to the best sunscreens for everyday, I always look for at least an SPF 30, a non-greasy finish, and a gentle non-irritating formula.
I’m not a skincare professional, but I do love trying different brands to find what works for me. Of all of the products that I’ve tried over the years, these are what I’ve found to be the best sunscreens for everyday.
Best Moisturizer Combo
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Facial Moisturizer with SPF
This is a combination moisturizer and sunscreen, perfect for those of us (like me!) who love a minimalist beauty routine. It provides a thick moisture to my dry skin without leaving any oily residue. The light sunscreen smell makes me think of summer, and SPF 30 provides enough sun protection for a daily sunscreen.
Best for Under Makeup
Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen SPF 40
Who would’ve thought that Trader Joe’s would have one of the best sunscreens on the market? This is my current everyday sunscreen. It applies so smoothly, has no fragrance, and does not irritate my dry skin. On the Trader Joe’s website it’s described as having a powdery finish, but I’ve found it to be a little dewier than some other options like the Elf Suntouchable and the Bare Republic sunscreens.
This feels like the happy medium sunscreen. It’s not greasy, doesn’t highlight my dry patches, and feels like air when applied. The higher SPF is also a plus, especially for days spent outside. The main drawback for this sunscreen is that it can be difficult to find in stores.
Elf Suntouchable Invisible Sunscreen SPF 35
This is another great invisible sunscreen for everyday wear. The formula feels a lot like the Trader Joe’s product, but gives off a slightly more powdery feel. The dry touch feel makes it out to be the perfect sunscreen for those with combination/oily skin. However, it also does surprisingly well on my drier skin type. This is the ideal product for use as a makeup primer, and it’s availability in stores makes it a winning option.
Mario Badescu Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
The Mario Badescu sunscreen is the first sunscreen that I truly fell in love with. I once found this at Marshall’s, and I was immediately hooked. It’s lightweight, doesn’t leave an oily residue, and is perfectly hydrating on my dry skin. I love using this as a daily SPF layered over my trusty CeraVe moisturizer. The main draw back for this one is the price, but it definitely feels like a high quality daily sunscreen.
Best for a Beach Day
When it comes to the beach, or any long period spent in direct sun, the more SPF the better!
Bare Republic Mineral SPF 70 Face Sunscreen Lotion
If air was a sunscreen, this would be it! This sunscreen is a super light formula with a powdery finish. It doesn’t have a strong sunscreen smell, and it applies to skin without leaving any greasy or sticky residue. This is definitely a product geared more towards combination/oily skin so I tend to use it during the warmer months when my skin is less dry. Something to note is that this is a mineral sunscreen so it does tend to leave a white cast.
Alba Botanica Hawaiian Sunscreen SPF 50
I love this sunscreen for face and body. It applies easily, it protects well, and it’s reef friendly. I have found that body sunscreens tend to sting my skin when applied, but the body version of this one has been gentle and non-irritating. I’ve used both the spray and the lotion varieties, and both are great user friendly options.
