Cottage-Core Vibes on a Monday
This season, I’ve been really leaning into all things quintessentially spring. This looks like introducing dresses with cardigans, lightening up my color palate, and doing away with heavy winter fabrics and colors.
March is such a transitional month. Spring is officially here but the weather likes to hold onto winter a little tightly. This means I have to pair my spring pieces with practical items like light jackets, cardigans, and boots. Even so, spring is here and I’m so excited to be able to dress with hope for warmer weather.
For this outfit I’ve paired a lovely puffed sleeve dress with a pair of riding boots. I love the contrast between the dainty dress and the scuffed boots. This combo almost gives off a country estate/Jane Austen vibe. I feel like I should be running through the misty field towards Mr. Darcy. Sigh.
Other ways I’m incorporating spring into my outfits:
- Pastels– nothing says spring like a lovely lavender or pale green
- Florals– I love a sweet floral motif on a top or dress this time of year
- Linen– It’s still on the chillier side where I live, so I’ve been adding layers and light jackets to my linen pieces
- Flowing Fabrics– spring to me is twirling around in loose and flowing dresses, skirts, anything that makes me feel like I’m running through a field of flowers. Or like I’m going to the farmer’s market.
What are your favorite closet items for spring?
