My Dry Skincare Survival Kit
Now that it’s May, summer is officially on its way. We’re entering such a wonderful time of year! Although the weather is warming up and the humidity is rising with it, my skin has not gotten the memo. I’m excitedly putting aside all things winter and yet, the dry skin remains. Sigh.
Even though I’ve accepted my eternally dry skin, finding the right products has been a journey. After trying what feels like a thousand different things over the years, I finally feel like I’ve found what works best for me. These are the unsponsored holy grail products that I’ll probably be using for the rest of my life. It sounds dramatic but it’s taken me so long to find what works that I never want to switch! Keep in mind I’m in no way a professional, I’ve just found what works for me through much trial and error.
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
I’ve been using the CeraVe Hydrating cleanser for few months now, and I love how gentle it is on my skin. My face never feels tight or itchy after using this product.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
This is a true holy grail product. I sang its praises in my post on beauty products that I’m currently loving, and it’s just so good that I have to mention it again. I’ve been trying to find a moisturizer that works for honestly, what feels like forever. I’m normally not super loyal to a specific brand, but I can see myself using this exact moisturizer forever.
Lip Balm
Another couple of my current beauty favorites, that also happen to be two of my dry skin favorites, are the Glossier Balm Dotcom and the Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment. The Balm Dotcom by Glossier truly lives up to the hype. I put this on every night before bed and I wake up with smooth and hydrated lips. When I’m looking for a more polished look, I love the Rhode Skin Peptide Lip Treatment. This is super hydrating and gives an elevated glossy tint to my lips. It also looks fabulous layered over a lip pencil or lip stain.
Aveeno Eczema Therapy Daily Moisturizing Cream
I’m low-key a bit of a germaphobe. I love hand sanitizer and I wash my hands frequently. In order to counteract the effects, I also need a solid hand lotion. The Eczema Therapy lotion by Aveeno is a game changer. I love to apply this right before bed and anytime my hands need a little extra TLC.
Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash
When it comes to body wash, I’m loving the classic Dove Deep Moisture formula. I love how this lathers, it smells so fresh, and it gives a nice moisture to my skin before I layer on lotion. It’s gentle and it’s hydrating.
Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion
The Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair lotion is my holy grail body lotion. It moisturizes my skin all day, doesn’t have a strong smell, and doesn’t feel sticky. I have tried so many lotions marketed towards extra dry skin, and none have worked as well as this one. It keeps my skin so hydrated all day, that I don’t even need to reapply.
