A Little Winter Brightness
Good morning, and happy February! I’m trying to be intentional today about celebrating this new month. I’m not usually a February hater, but this winter has been cold, and I’m more than ready for a change of season. Even so, summer is a long way off, and instead of wallowing in my longing for what’s next, I’ve decided to look for ways to celebrate what’s right now. Today, this looks like adding a little winter brightness to my outfit. I can’t control the weather, but I can ensure that my outfit brings as much joy to this winter gloom as possible.

I feel like I need to clarify what I mean here when I say brightness, because I definitely mean mood brightness rather than color brightness. Initially, I went into this looking to add all the color, but what started out as inspiration quickly turned to stress. So, I fell back on what I know and love. Neutrals! But favorite neutrals. There’s something so comforting and uplifting about wearing what you love, and I can confidently say that I love each piece in this look.
This is a hilariously simple outfit but, as I must learn again and again, a lot of the time the simplest looks bring the most joy. And the most ease. Both of which I’m needing a lot of at the moment.
Summer may be far away, but in the meantime I’m finding joy in the little things. I mean, how can you not smile when sporting a Twilight t-shirt?
