All About the Contrast

I fear that I’m starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to my love for juxtaposition. It’s one of my favorite style tricks, as it always produces the perfect amount of visual interest. Whether it be between the white dress and the black accessories, or between the short hemline and tall boot, today’s outfit is all about the contrast.

For the longest time, I was of the belief that brown leather was for summer, and black leather was for fall/winter. This was a firm style rule that I was a stickler for, and it wasn’t until recently that I found it to be utterly unnecessary.

I’ve spoken a lot about how I’ve grown to let go of old style rules. Instead, I’ve started to wear what feels right. Regardless if it’s seasonal or not. This new freedom has opened up a whole new world of style possibilities that have revived my closet in the best ways.

A prime example? Black leather accessories for summer. At this rate, I’m not sure I’ll be wearing brown leather anytime soon. Or maybe I will. Who knows? The rules have been thrown out the window!
