These Boots Were Made for Summer
Last summer, I figured out that seasonal pieces don’t necessarily need to remain seasonal. With the right amount of motivation and a little creativity, certain pieces can be worn year round. This proved especially true for my beloved pair of riding boots. Summer styling brought these boots out of a years long hibernation, and gave them a whole new life. I’ve worn them on repeat with dresses and shorts, and it has shown that these boots were made for summer.

The theme of this outfit seems to be, how much contrast can I squeeze into one look? The answer is, quite a lot. I wanted to keep things on the lighter side for the sake of the season, but also because of how it looks with the boots. This top from Aritzia is in the dreamiest champagne color, and the ruffles give it the perfect vintage vibe. Something delicate and bright to play off of the scuffed riding boot.
Part of the appeal of wearing these shoes in summer is the contrast in color, but also the contrast between the knee high boot and the cropped short. It’s a well known fact that I love a good contrast, and this outfit further confirms the narrative.
Riding boots have quickly become a go-to shoe in any season. This summer looks to be more of the same!
