Burgundy is Having a Moment
This season has been all about the reds. Shades ranging from bright cherry to muted wine have been popping up everywhere, and I’ve loved seeing this vibrant hue in everything from boots, to bags, to sweaters. I always love to see a trend come along that matches something I already own. When I saw the burst of burgundy across my FYP, I knew I had the perfect sweater. Burgundy is having a moment, and I’m an enthusiastic participant!
I’ve been really into the skirts-with-boots look lately. Before this year, I almost exclusively wore these boots with pants, so wearing them with skirts feels like a reinvention of sorts. It’s like these boots have taken on a whole new life, just by getting paired with something different.
This loose and cozy sweater is an oldie but goodie from the back of my closet. It’s made of the softest yarn, and the light knit ensures that I’ll be warm but not overheated. The billowing shape also makes it the perfect match for high waisted pants or skirts. I just love how it melts over the waistband when French tucked! It’s effortless and comfortable.
This outfit is inspired by the 90s style resurgence, as you can see with the claw clip. I love 90s style for its clean lines and simplicity, and I tried to embody that spirit with this sweater and skirt pairing.
Once again, I’ve found that some of the best looks come from the simplest formulations!
How are you wearing red this season?
